Adultery – This means having a canal knowledge with one other than your spouse. This is the sixth commandment given to man by God through Moses! Exodus 20:14. This commandment also includes fornication, which is sex between unmarried people, prostitution, pornography, homosexual activity, masturbation, group sex, rape, incest, pedophilia, bestiality, and necrophilia. God created man and saw that it is not good for him to be alone, he gave him a helper comparable to him, which is the woman. Gen 2:18. In verse 24, God later told them to become one flesh. Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Heb 13:4. Adultery is wrong in all ways you look at it. God hates adultery, how can people who are supposed to be one flesh, leave their flesh to be joined to another? God said that marital bed should not be defiled, that he will punish adulterers. It is sad and heart breaking that topics like this has disappeared from the pulpit. We have replaced issues like this with miracle and prosperity topics and people keep getting destroyed everyday. I still maintain that you will answer for the soul of that person who comes to your church to give offering, tithe, seed, that you never led to Christ and he dies in his sins. God told Ezekiel “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. When I say to the wicked, `O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself. Ez 33:1-10. We as pastors, evangelists, and gospelers should help our members. You, a married man that goes to church, but you still keep mistresses, sidechicks what are you even thinking? Did you not hear that God says he will punish adulterers? You destroy your home, put your wife and family to emotional torture, because you want some momentary pleasures? In Leviticus 20:10, God said that anybody caught in adultery should be put to death. In the ninth commandment, God says we should not covet our neighbor’s wife. This also buttresses the fact that God forbids the intentional desire and longing for immoral sexuality. Jesus later said that it is not just to do the act physically, but also doing it mentally and spiritually is equally sinful. To sin in the heart, Jesus says, is to lust after a woman or a man in your heart with the desire and will to have immoral sex with them. Just as human life is a gift from God and needs to be respected, defended, and protected, so, too, is human sexuality. It is offensive to God when you lust after a woman who is not your wife, so also a woman lusting after another man who is not her husband. Adultery is a sin that destroys the body. God is so serious with this sin that he said in 1 Corinthians 6:18 “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body”. In 1 Corinthians 10:8, “Neither let us commit fornication as some of them committed, and fell in one day twenty-three thousand.” This sin destroys! This also goes to women, men are not the only people in adultery, so many married women today have boyfriends, some keep “sideboys”, some keep “sugardaddys”. You married woman whose eyes are running like the eagle’s on men, God is calling you today, repent. In your office, you sleep with MD, you sleep with the new handsome employee, do you remember God? That five minutes of pleasure is destroying a generation’s destinies! You are a married woman, you cannot get your eyes off handsome men, go for deliverance. Is there grace in this sinful world full of temptation? Yes, God’s grace is available, ask for it, you will get. When tempted to sin, ask God for grace, he will give you. My brethren, if you have been in adultery, no matter how long you have been in it, God is ready to help you. Say this prayer, Oh God, please help me, I surrender my life to you. I surrender my desires, lusts, everything that resembles sin, and lay them at your feet. I ask for your mercy to live a life that will glorify you, a life that will make you proud of me. Forgive me of my past sins of adultery and fornication and give me to the grace to resist the enemy whenever he shows up in Jesus name Amen.
