Arsenal’s pursuit of Brighton star Ben White appears to be bad news for the future of Rob Holding.
Holding became one of Mikel Arteta’s first-choice centre-backs last season, making 30 appearances in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old formed an impressive partnership at the back with Pablo Mari, as the Gunners secured the third-best defensive record in the top-flight.
But Arteta is looking to boost his defensive options in this summer’s transfer window, with a deal for Ben White edging closer.
The Gunners are set to shell out a fee in the region of £50million for the Brighton star, meaning one of Arsenal’s seven centre-backs will have to make way.
That player appears to be Holding, with The Times reporting that the former Bolton defender will “likely be available for sale” this summer.
